2009 GREENVILLE AREA
GREEN BUILDING TOUR
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING DESIGN HOMES FROM LOCAL BUILDERS

The fourth annual Greenville Area Green Building Tour will took place Saturday, October 3rd in conjunction with the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association's 2009 Statewide Green Building & Solar Tour. The statewide and local tours are part of the American Solar Energy Society's national tour.

The tour kicked-off at Pitt County Community College with two homes built by PCC students using new techniques in building science. Directions for other homes were available at Pitt Community College on day of tour. All three featured homes were about 20 minutes from the PCC home base.

Point contact was Karen Wagner at 252-328-4980   or     Email: wagnerk@ecu.edu

Last year's tour focused on energy efficiency, building science, and renewable energy, and also featured three residential homes - one built with insulated concrete forms, one using passive solar architecture, and one with active solar systems (both solar hot water and photovoltaic solar panels).
